PRUITT'S HISTORY
Pruitt Machinery, Inc., founded in 1971 by Howard L. Pruitt, Jr., to serve the woodworking industries of western North Carolina, western South Carolina, and eastern Tennessee. The company grew from a one-man office to a complete sales organization with warehouse and showroom facilities, parts and service departments and likewise, our geographical coverage has increased to a regional concentration and extends beyond the national level.
Jeff Gilchrist, President, joined the company as a salesman in 1977 and became part owner in 1985. As of June 1, 1994, Jeff became sole stockholder and President of Pruitt Machinery, Inc.
We are located at 25 23rd Street, NW, in Hickory, occupying close to 30,000 square feet in facilities. The new facilities allowed us to consolidate our offices, warehouse space, parts inventory, and service department.
Pruitt Machinery has outside sales representatives servicing the Carolinas into Virginia and eastern Tennessee, and inside sales representatives available at all times to assist you with your machinery needs. We also distribute new and reconditioned equipment throughout the U.S. and Canada.
New machinery is still the major area of the company's sales volume. "Our customer service is vital and it includes appraisals, reconditioning, parts for all machines, as well as importing new machinery as needed".
